Letters To The Editor

Reply To Dhanda’s Letter Published In Mumbai Samachar (June 04, 2017)

Editor’s Note: Since the above mentioned letter, as alleged by the undersigned Godrej Baug Residents Welfare Association leaders, makes unsubstantiated statements which need to be responded to, with the aim of providing the truth to our community members, Parsi Times is printing this letter on the request of the same and will not provide this platform for future correspondence between the above mentioned parties.

Dear Editor,

We have sent our response to the Editor of Mumbai Samachar under cover of our letter dated June 8, 2017 but as the issue is important and the same is related to Article of ‘BPP Connect’ carried your issue of May 13, 2017 and the subsequent response in your newspaper, we therefore request you also to print our attached response, as under:

Dear Urvax,

At the outset we would have preferred if matters with respect to the Baug and Association are addressed within the Baug rather than being exchanged through the media. We shall not respond to such letters in media after this. Our case will rest with this response.

In response to your “Replies to GBRWA” we can only say that you are being naive and showing lack of understanding. GBRWA, after a lot of thought and discussion, accepted the increase in Service Charges based on a clear understanding that our members/residents who are economically stressed will be granted full or part wavier. after a short, dignified process and in future BPP will consider having a discussion with respective Associations before proposing a similar increase. The same has been highlighted in our circular dated April 01, 2017 to the members and residents.

GBRWA, also thru the same circular conveyed that in the present scheme there is imbalance in the service charges paid by various Baugs and proposed to the BPP that the cross subsidy should be discontinued. This has also been highlighted in our clarification letter too when we mentioned of “Sins of Cross Subsidy”. GBRWA has effectively and in a dignified way represented the interest of its members and residents and for the same reasons the members have with improved majority voted back the same core members of the Managing Committee for 4th consecutive term.

GBRWA or its members or residents do not need “so called activists” to represent their interest on any forum. The members or residents of Godrej Baug have not appointed you or any other activist as their representative and therefore you are requested not to speak on behalf of residents but for yourself only. GBRWA remains committed to the interest of all members/residents including you and we do not need to curry favour with any one and do not have any hidden agenda as falsely alleged by you.

For Godrej Baug Residents Welfare Association:

Farhad H. Hozdar – President; Shahrukh Z. Bilimoria – Hon. Gen. Secretary; Arzan Ghadially – Member Sub-committee

Support BPP With A Community Resolution

This is with ref to Parsi Times (25th May 2017) clarification by BPP Chairman who lamented the activities of some community miscreants who hamper the working of BPP. Members of our community shouldn’t feel this is just the problem of BPP’s elected members. These members were elected by us – the Parsi community – and they work for our welfare voluntarily, sacrificing their time and energy for the cause of the Community. But when they are targeted by disgraceful comments and litigations in courts, it also becomes the community’s duty to support and comfort them. Parsis, especially those residing in Baugs, should come forward and pass a resolution supporting the work of the BPP. This will have not only support the morale of our Trustees but will also have a positive effect upon the civil litigations and will prove to be a tight slap to the antisocial elements.
