It’s India V/s Pakistan In The Champions Trophy Finals: Magnificent batting by skipper Virat Kohli (96*) and Rohit Sharma (123*) got India to win by 9 wickets against Bangladesh in the second semi-final in Edgbaston, and heading into the Finals. Batting first the Bengal Tigers scored 264-7 in 50 overs. Tamim Iqbal made 70 while Mushifiqur Rahim contributed a handy 61. Amongst the Indian bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kedar Jadhav scalped 2 wickets each. India comfortably reached the target in 40.1 overs. Virat Kohli made history as the quickest player to reach the 8000 runs mark in ODIs in 175 innings. Rohit Sharma won ‘Man of the Match’.

Pakistan Beat England In Champions Trophy Semis: Pakistan overpowered England, winning their encounter by 8 wickets and securing their way into the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017. Batting first, England notched up 211 in 49.5 overs. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow contributed with 46 and 43 respectively. Hasan Ali was the pick of the bowlers scalping 3-35 in his 10 overs spell. Junaid Khan and Rumman Raees grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, team Pakistan cruised to victory finishing 215-2 in 37.1 overs. Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman both scored half centuries. Hasan Ali was ‘Man of the Match’.

Srikanth And Prannoy Enter Quarter Finals: India’s star shuttlers, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy beat their respective opponents and advanced to the quarter finals of the Men’s Singles at the Indonesia Super Series Premier in Jakarta. HS Prannoy beat Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei in straight sets 21-10 21-18; while Srikanth defeated Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark 21-15, 20-22, 21-16.

Shocking Defeat For Roger Federer: Roger Federer suffered a defeat at the hands of 39-year-old Tommy Haas (ranked 302) at the Stuttgart grass court tournament. Haas won 2-6, 7-6 (10/8), 6-4.
