Mandapeshwar Caves: Built in the 8th century, Mandapeshwar Caves (also known as ‘Dahisar Caves’) is a rock-cut shrine dedicated to lord Shiva, in the suburb of Borivali, Mumbai. The name of the cave Mandapeshwar means ‘Hall of Lord’. Built on the banks of the Dahisar River, Mandapeshwer caves have sculptures depicting mythical tales of Hindu gods and goddesses.

 

 

Arnala Fort: Located 8 miles north of Vasai, Arnala Fort (also known as ‘Jaldurga’ or ‘Janjire Arnala’) was built on a small island in the port town of Arnala in 1516 by the ruler, Mahmud Begda. Captured by many empires such as Mughals, Marathas, Portuguese and Peshwas, the fort is surrounded on all sides by water, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Arabian Sea.
