Jijinas Shine Gold In NMC

14-year-old Friya Jijina, student of Dadar Parsi Youth Assembly High School, recently bagged a gold at the National Mushtido Competition (NMC) in the U-14, 50+ kg category, on 16th July, 2017. Having won various accolades at School and State level, Friya has been training in Mushtido – a unique martial art form and effective self-defence combat sport, since the age of 11. Her parents who also double up as her coaches, train her at the Khush Judo and MMA academy. Inspired by Friya and following in her footsteps, her two younger siblings, Hormazd (11) and Ruxshin (7), have also picked up the sport, with Hormazd winning a gold medal, and Ruxshin clinching a bronze! Speaking to Parsi Times, Friya Jijina said, “I hope to represent India in martial arts and also make a significant contribution to the development and growth of Mushtido in the country.”
