‘Shahnameh of Ferdowsi’ At IUU

As Parsi/Irani Zoroastrians across India and the world prepare to attend the mega-cultural celebrations in UDvada, the Iranshah Udvada Utsav (IUU), Exclusive Media Partner, Parsi Times, shares insights about ‘The Shahnameh of Ferdowsi’ Exhibition, one of the prominent highlights of the IUU – 2017, which will take place from the 23rd to 25th December.

The IUU is excited to host ‘The Shahnameh of Ferdowsi’, an awe-inspiring exhibition curated by Silloo Mehta. Ferdowsi’s immortal epic, The Shahnameh, is considered the ‘National Epic of Iran’ and a ‘crown jewel in Persian Literature’ – a priceless necklace of wisdom and devotion, containing 60,000 pearls threaded with the string of Iranian history, glowing with wisdom, virtue, philosophy, knowledge, mystery, beauty, art and values, reflecting the old glory and splendor of Iran. Using handcrafted 3D models, paintings and write-ups, the exhibition showcases the significance of the epic, and its impact on the language and history of Iran, from selected episodes from the Peshdadian and Kyanian Dynasties. In its sixth presentation, this highly-acclaimed exhibition has received rave reviews in its previous showings in the USA and India and will be on show through the IUU (23 – 25 December, 2017) at Mirza Hall, Mirza Street, Udwada, from 10 am to 7:00 pm
