Three Cheers!

Dear Readers,

It’s been a good week for the community – we have three delightful reasons to rejoice! The first, of course being our very own Police Inspector Cyrus Boman Irani bringing great pride onto our community for being awarded the distinguished ‘President’s Police Medal For Meritorious Service’, on the occasion of our 69th Republic Day! Parsi Times was delighted to break the news with our readers on Facebook, and within just a few hours there was an outpour of hundreds of congratulatory messages from all across India, and the world, for the much deserving Inspector! It’s been a while since a community member brought glory to our Community, and the nation, as a Parsi serving in the Police Force. On behalf of the entire community, it is the privilege of Parsi Times to heartily congratulate Inspector Cyrus Irani and his splendid family for adding another prestigious feather to our Parsi cap!

Adding fur to the feathers is PT’s very own ‘Pet Puja’ columnist, the lovely Shirin Merchant, India’s leading canine behaviourist and trainer, who was felicitated with the ‘First Women Award’ by President Ramnath Kovind, for her pioneering and outstanding contributions to Canine Training Programmes (Pg. 6/ Pg. 8). Her passion and achievements definitely deserve a ‘paws’ for her cause!

And now, for the third wonderfully uplifting news – the completion of 100 successive, monthly Avan-Roj Humbandagis at our Bhikha Behram Kua. Over the years, this delightfully unifying community initiative, started by two of our Community’s dynamic do-gooders – Hoshaang Gotla and Parzon Zend – has quietly but consistently, flowered beautiful into a holy crusade, uniting community members from near and far, to pray together. It is indeed true – the community that prays together, stays together, and with unity being the need of the hour, this effort is commended with the highest regard!

As always, your favourite news weekly is at the forefront of cheering and promoting all good deeds, great achievements and all our exceptional Parsi/Irani men and women, who add to the glory of our community, make us proud Parsis and Indians, and inspire us to bring our best to the table as well. Do send in your congratulatory messages to our heroes so we can share these in our oncoming issues to applaud their efforts. Here’s looking forward to dedicating our front page to many more heroes!

Have a lovely weekend!
