Convocation Ceremony At Gamadia Girls School

The Bai MN Gamadia Girls’ High School organised their ‘Infant and Primary Department Convocation’ ceremony on 21st February, 2018, at the school hall, attended by Trustees of Parsee Girls’ School Association (PGSA), Minoo Billimoria, Kersi Comissariat with wife Zarine and Zubin Billimoria, and Parsi Times Assistant Editor, Delaveen Tarapore as Chief Guest.

The event commenced with the ceremonial assembly renditions, followed by Principal, Zarin Behram Rabadi introducing and felicitating Delaveen who judged two competitions scheduled for the day. The ‘Fancy Dress Competition’ organised by the school’s infant department, had eighteen tiny-tots showcase their talents and vocation skills, with Habiba Lunje winning the title as the little ‘Thunder’. In keeping with the competitive spirit, the Primary department proceeded with the ‘Primary Pick’ contest that had sixty-one students of Std. IV, battling it out in four different rounds to declare its ultimate ‘intelligent’ beauty, declaring Dhruvi Parekh as the ultimate ‘Pick’ from the primary department. The entertainment was delightful with song and dance sequences performed by the Junior and Senior KG students of the school. The ‘Convocation Ceremony’ had Delaveen award higher KG and Std. IV students who graduated to the Primary and Secondary departments, respectively. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the school anthem. Speaking to Parsi Times, Principal, Zarin said, “As a confidence booster, a convocation function was organised by our school wherein Tiny tots as small as three years old, were given the opportunity to speak in front of a full gathering of parents, teachers and Trustees. The event was truly successful.”
