Recognising ‘World Menstruation Day’ With Deane

Founder of NGO, ‘Red is the new Green’, Deane de Menezes was recently felicitated by Dadar Parsee Colony’s Senior Citizens Group for her efforts towards generating awareness about ‘menstrual hygiene’. Deane will also be felicitated with the ‘Queens Young Leader Award’ by Queen Elizabeth II, in June this year. On the occasion of ‘World Menstruation Day’, on 28th May, 2018, Deane, who through her NGO, strives to provide equal access to menstrual hygiene products for all, irrespective of class, caste or gender, says, “Red Is The New Green aims to reduce the social stigma and economic inequality attached to menstruation while providing sustainable solutions. Since its inception in 2016, we have conducted menstrual hygiene awareness sessions in schools, colleges, hospitals and other institutions, gender no bar. We are also working to provide alternative eco-friendly choices.”
