ZTFI’s ‘Not So Young! Not So Old!’ – Huge Success

On Sunday, 10th June, 2018, the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI), our community’s leading philanthropic institution, organised a gala eve titled ‘Not So Young! Not So Old!’ at Sethna Agiary Hall. The fun-and-games filled event started with great music scored by Manish Rele and his troupe, with Yasmin Mistry, ZTFI’s vivacious Trustee, formally opening the event with her signature heart-warming, welcome. The event was graced by Chief Guest, the legendary Farokh Engineer, alongside community luminaries – ZTFI senior Committee member, Arnavaz Mistry and ZTFI Trustee, Kersi Randeria.

Attended by over 250 participants from 30-60 years of age – in keeping with the ‘Not So Young! Not So Old!’, theme the evening began with a bevy of exciting games which had all the participants up and about! These included dividing the participants into four play groups – namely, Batliwala; Gotla; Rustomjee and Pestonjee – participating. Games included Balloon Blowing, Balloon Bursting, the Queen of Sheeba which was a big hit as was the evergreen, community’s favorite – Housie. Lucky Draws too was presented.

Chief Guest Farokh Engineer addressed the audience and handed out prizes to winners. As the evening proceeded, a speech was given on behalf of Jiyo Parsi, followed by singing and dancing. The event concluded with Yasmin Mistry bidding thanks to all, especially the Trustees and Committee Members of Sethna Agiary Hall for lending the hall for free of cost and to Farokh Mojia for photography. This was followed by a delicious buffet dinner.

Spearheaded by Trustee Yasmin Mistry in 2009, the ZTFI Movement supported by its Committee members – Arnavaz Mistry, Vistaspar Mehta, Aspi Tantra and Kashmira Khambatta – has been gaining momentum and is known for its consistent philanthropic activities that help sustain the lives and livelihood of the underprivileged of our community.
