The Valedictorian function of the Holiday Programme for Youth (HPY) was held on 29th May, 2016 at J.B. Vachha High School, Dadar. This year, the programme saw a total of 280 participants from across the country. The evening commenced with HPY participants, Parena Sahukar and Rayzan Vacha, sharing their experiences.
Giving valuable insights, BPP President, Yazdi Desai, spoke about the importance of prayers, respecting parents and urging youngsters to achieve excellence in their field. Mentor Diana Marfatia expressed her appreciation for her team by inviting all organisors as well as coordinator Azmin Mistry Vania on stage and acknowledging their contributions. Chief Guest, Homai Daruwalla, President of the Zoroastrian Cooperation Bank, felicitated them and spoke of the importance of leadership and entrepreneurship amongst the youth. Guest of Honor, Burzin Mehta, creative head at Oglivy and Mather, left the audience in awe with some very interesting personal anecdotes.
Moving on to the most anticipated part of the evening, the prize distribution included adjudg
ing MR. and MISS HPY, on the basis of factors such as attitude, regularity, pro-activeness, charm etc. Raizan Vatcha and Behnaz Patel were crowned MR. and MISS HPY – 2016, respectively; while Frayosh Sinor and Kaizeen Irani were declared MR. and MISS HPY 2016 – Runners Up, respectively. Achievers were declared the ‘Best Group’.
Moving on to the entertaining part of the evening, Manaaz Nariman who has sung jingles for Nissan and Ford, sang at the event. Winner of Miscellaneous and stage talent- Farzad Driver shared his views on HPY. A group of children choreographed and performed a dance sequel with great style. All in all, a fabulous show, as always! Kudos to the whole HPY Team!
