The Bombay Zoroastrian Jasan Committee and Athornan Mandal celebrated their Bahman Ameshaspand Jasan ceremony and Annual Function at Albless Baug on 10th July, 2016. The Jasan started at 10.30 am and was performed by Er. Farshogar Madon, Er. Harvesp Madon, Er. Pervez Madon and Er. Shazaad Arjani of Soonaiji Agiary, Gowalia Tank, followed by a Humbandagi. Compere Zarine Commissariat welcomed the gathering and requested for a two minute silence in remembrance of Late Vada Dasturji Er. Dr. Peshotan Mirza. Further, President of Athornan Mandal, Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor too payed his tribute to the Er. Peshotan Mirza.
Speaking about the ‘Life and Thinking of Zarathustra’, keynote speaker, Er. Darius Parvez Bajan elucidated how Zarathustra preached the ‘Mazdayasni’ religion and hence his followers are called the ‘Mazdayasni Parsis and Iranis’. Next, Chairman of Athornan Mandal, Er. Nadir Ardeshir Modi spoke about the significance of ‘Bahman Ameshaspandand’, as the guardian angel of all animals on earth, symbolizing the good and holy mind. The event also witnessed Pervez Tavaria being presented with the ‘Unsung Hero’ award by Trustee of Bombay Zoroastrian Jashan Committee (BZJC), Saroosh Dinshaw.
