CLP by Lions Club Of East Bombay

Having entered its centenary or ‘Lionistic Year’, The Lions Club of East Bombay (District 323A1) renovated the Serology room of Nair Hospital’s Blood Bank and donated an ‘Elisa Reader and Washer’ worth Rs. 7 lakhs, in memory of late Shirinbai and Kharshedji Doongaji, as a part of their first ‘Centennial Legacy Project’ (CLP). This donation promises to conduct tests such as Hbssg (Jaundice), HCV, HIV / AIDS and other mandatory tests on 92 units of blood, in a matter of two hours.

Inaugurated by the District’s first ever lady Parsi Governor, Lion Armaity Aspi Cooper, the event was attended by first Vice District Governor, Lion Pradip Parekh; second Vice District Governor, Lion Divyesh Shah and Khurshed Doongaji, Trustee of Shirinbai K. Doondagi Trust; along with members of the Doongaji Family. Head of the blood bank at Nair hospital, Dr. Mayura Phulpagar, co-ordinated the proceedings and apprised the audience about the project, in the presence of Dr. Minoo Sanjana, Head of the Department of Surgery and Dr. Pankaja Agal, Deputy Dean of Nair Hospital.
