Paralympics
India Shine At Rio 2016 Paralympics: Devendra Jhajharia won the gold in the Men’s Javelin Throw F46 event and created a new record of 63.97 meters. Deepa Malik bagged a silver in the Women’s Shotput F53 category. Mariyappan Thangavelu clinched the gold medal, while his fellow competitor Varun Bhati grabbed bronze in the Men’s High Jump T42 category.

CRICKET
India Blue Wins Duleep Trophy: Ravindra Jadeja bowled exceptionally and clinched a 10 wicket haul along with Chesteshwar Pujara who scored 256, thereby helping the Blues win by 355 runs. In the process the Gautam Gambhir led side won the inaugural day-night 2016 Duleep Trophy Tournament which was played with the pink ball for the very first time.

India’s Test Squad For The Upcoming New Zealand Series: The selection committee announced India’s Test squad for the home series V/s New Zealand starting 22nd September. Virat Kohli (Captain), KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, R. Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, Umesh Yadav.

FOOTBALL
Premier League Results: On 10th September Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1; Arsenal won 2-1 against Southampton while AFC Bournemouth won 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion. Further, Burnley and Hull City drew their game 1-1, while Crystal Palace emerged victorious (2-1) against Middlesbrough. Tottenham Hotspur won handsomely with a 4-0 win over Stoke City, Watford won 4-2 against West Ham United and ultimately, Liverpool beat Leicester City 4-1. 11th September saw a draw 2-2 between team’s Swansea City and Chelsea. While Everton won 3-0 against Sunderland.

BASKETBALL
Great Britain Beats Macedonia: Great Britain defeated Macedonia 89-62 thus boosting their chance of qualifying for the Eurobasket finals, thanks to star player Dan Clark, who scored 21 points for his side (Great Britain).

India Through To Quarter-Finals Of The FIBA Asia Challenge 2016: The India basketball side won 100-90 against rivals Kazakhstan, thus securing a place in the quarter-finals of the FIBA Asia Challenge 2016.

TENNIS
Us Open 2016: Stan Wawrinka was crowned the champion in Men’s Singles, while Angelique Kerber won in the Women’s Singles category. Bruno Soares and Jamurray won the Men’s Doubles while Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova won the Women’s Doubles event. The mixed doubles was won by Laura Siegemund and Mate Pavic.
