Backup And Restore

Bought a new phone – awesome! But how does one restore data from the old phone onto the new one?

If you’re using the Google Now Launcher, your home screen background, icon and widget layout as well as folder structure is now saved to the cloud, allowing you to restore your settings to a new handset and retain your home screen layout. Besides, all your apps, widgets and their settings are also saved. Just go to Settings – Backup & Reset – Backup My Data – turn it on! Then go back to Backup & Reset and confirm that your current Google Account is associated with the backup account. The last step is to enable Automatic Restore to ON. That’s it.
Now, when you move to a new phone and connect with your same Google Account for the first time, go to the Backup & Restore section and hit Restore. And you can get going instantly!

Remember to enable your Backup today!
