Felicitating Mr. Dotivala

Sazeman-e–Jawanan-e-Zarthosty-e-Irani Mumbai and Iranian Zoroastrian Anjuman, organised ‘Mehrgan Jashan’ on 1st October, 2016, at NM Petit Fasli Atash Kadeh Hall, with nearly 150 humdins. The administrator and organizer of Sazeman-e–Jawanan-e-Zarthosty, Darayush S. Zainabadi warmly welcomed the congregation and explained the significance of this auspicious day in English and Persian languages, for the benefit of the large number of Persian/Dari speaking members. Godrej N. Dotivala, Secretary General of Indo-Iranian Friendship Society, was the Chief Guest for the evening.

Mehrgan, as observed in ancient Iran and by Iranians the world over, is a day of thanksgiving to Ahura Mazda for his bounties and to invoke His blessings. BPP PRO, Godrej N. Dotivala was felicitated with a floral tribute. Zainabadi also felicitated social workers and teachers, patron members of the Sazeman, Parvin Minoo Khosravi – English Teacher at St. Xaviers School with 22 years of service; Nariman Mody – Trustee of Parsee Vegetarian and Temperance Society; Mahnaz Contractor – Persian language teacher at Mumbai’s Iran Culture House; Jer Sohrab Irani – Special Executive Officer and social worker; and Sazeman member Sheriar H F Tafti. The Sazeman warmly thank the Trustees and caretaker of Fasli Agyari for organizing and conducting the evening’s ‘Jashne’, which concluded with the distribution of ‘chasni’ and dry fruits to all, and prayers to
Ahura Mazda.
