Jiyo Parsi’s Workshop For Gamadia Boy’s Hostel

A day that could be a turning point in your life… Skills for Life”… developing an attractive and dynamic personality. This was the theme of an interesting workshop which was conducted by Jiyo Parsi counsellor, Binaifer Sahukar held a personality workshop ‘Skills For Life’ at the Gamadia Boy’s Hostel on 16th October, 2016.

The highlights of the workshop included training in creating a good social impression – personally and professionally; grooming tips; equipping oneself for campus and corporate interviews; etc. Counselor Pearl Mistry presented the Jiyo Parsi Project which lead to an open session where the participants opened up about some pertinent issues plaguing the community.

Next, Pearl conducted a debate on ‘Is it better to have siblings or be the only child in the family’, which showed good points from either side being explored. This was followed by a round of how group discussions are conducted with the topics ‘Parsi girls are materialistic’ and ‘Parsi boys are losers and mama’s boys’ – providing a hands-on experience on the dynamics of group discussion about how one functions and operates in a team, and how to agree to disagree with fellow members. The evening ended on an energized note with the boys looking forward to more such sessions and workshops in the future and sumptuous snacks and drinks sponsored by the BPP. Kudos to Anahita Desai and Khorshed Meherjee for making this fabulous event possible.
