Lok Sabha Discusses Decline In Population Of Parsis And Jews

As per a report by the Press Trust of India (New Delhi) on 6 December, 2016, Lok Sabha was informed that the population of the Parsi community in India has reduced by almost half, while that of the Jews has become one-sixth of what it was in 1951. The Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said as per Census 2011, the population of Parsi/Zorastrian and Jews/Judaism in India was 57,264 and 4,229, respectively, as compared to Census 1951, when the population of these two communities was 1,11,791 and 26,781, respectively.
