pg_20-1India Beats Pakistan To Clinch Women’s T20 Asia Cup: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Nepal participated in the 2016 Asia Cup, where India emerged champions for the sixth time. Opting to bat, India notched up 121-5 in 20 overs as skipper Mithali Raj led from the front scoring an unbeaten 73 of 65 deliveries, smashing 7 fours and 1 six in the process. In reply, Pakistan started off well but kept losing wickets. Skipper Bismah Maroof top scored for Pakistan with 25. Finally the women in blue overpowered their opponents and reduced them to 104-6 in their 20 overs, thus winning by 17 runs.

‘Harris Shield’ Elite Division Round 2: Swami Vivekanand International School (Borivali) beat Cathedral and John Cannon by an innings and 123 runs. Yash Jathar and Suved Parkar of Swami Vivekanand grabbed a fifer 5-17 and 4-33, respectively. Cathedral and John Cannon crumbled at 70 in 38.5 overs during their second innings. This time too they did not put up a fight after been bowled out for a paltry 48 during their first innings. Thanks to a great 204 runs partnership between Suved Parkar who scored a brilliant 121, well supported on the other end by young Rajsingh Deshmukh (97), Swami Vivekanand declared victory at 241-2.

On the other hand Swapnil Chavan starred in Al-Barkaat MMI’s win as he notched up a double ton of just 178 balls, smashing 39 boundaries and three sixes. Al-Barkaat MMI registered an outright victory of an innings and 89 runs over Shardashram Vidyamandir (English) on day 2 of their Harris Shield Elite Division encounter.

Premier League Results: On 3rd December Chelsea beat Manchester City 3-1 while Crystal Palace won 3-0 to Southampton. Stoke City emerged victorious and beat Burnley 2-0, on the other hand Sunderland won 2-1 against Leicester City. Tottenham Hotspur outplayed rivals Swansea city 5-0 while West Bromwich Albion defeated Watford 3-1 and finally Arsenal were too good for West Ham United beating them 5-1. On the next day AFC Bournemouth won 4-3 playing V/s Liverpool and on 5th December, Middlesbrough defeated Hull City 1-0.

Parupalli Kashyap Advances To The Quarter Finals Of Korea Masters: Indian shuttler, Parupalli Kashyap beat Zhou Zeqi of China 21-11, 13-21, 21-8 in the men’s singles contest and thus reached the Korea Masters Grand Prix Gold quarter-final stage of the competition.

Indian Women Finish 9th In World Squash Championship: India beat Canada 2-0 and finished ninth in the World Women’s Team Squash Championship in Paris. Joshna Chinappa beat Holie Naughton 13-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7, while Dipika Pallikal won 11-7, 11-5, 11-2 as she beat rival Samantha Cornett. Akanksha Salunkhe did not play.
