India Win 4th Test Match At Wankhede: India won handsomely at Wankhede by an innings and 36 runs and went up 3-0, sealing the Test Series. Opting to bat first England notched up 400 in 130.1 overs during their first innings as debutant Keaton Jennings scored a scintillating 112 before being caught by Pujara off Ashwin’s delivery. Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali scored half centuries. Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed 6-112 while Jadeja grabbed 4 wickets. India amassed 631 in 182.3 overs thanks to Virat Kohli who scored 235 and was ably supported on the other end by Jayant Yadav who put up a gritty 104. Earlier, Murali Vijay gave India the perfect start with his 136. England had an uphill task chasing and India put pressure on them early on. They collapsed for 195 in 55.3 overs as Ashwin picked another 6 wickets. The Man of the Match was awarded to Virat Kohli for his incredible knock of 235.

Nabijaan Ansari’s Ton Helps Al-Barkaat Into Harris Shield Semi-Finals: Al-Barkaat MMI English School beat Swami Vivekanand International School (Kandivali) on the basis of their first innings lead and thus storm into the semi-finals of the Harris Shield Elite Division. Al-Barkaat’s Nabijaan Ansari scored a great knock of an unbeaten 106 which included 8 fours. He was ably supported by Aasim Shaikh who contributed a handy 79. They both stitched a hefty 148 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. This helped Al-Barkaat MMI English School amass 312-8 in their first innings as compared to Swami Vivekanand’s 234 on day 1 as left-arm spinner Nabijaan Ansari bagged 3 important wickets for Al-Barkaat. They now face Hansraj Morarji in the semi-finals.

FOOTBALL

Indian Super League Results: Atletico-de Kolkata defeated Mumbai City FC 3-2 in the first leg of the first semi-final of ISL on 10th December. While on the other hand Kerala Blasters FC won 1-0 against Delhi Dynamos FC the next day in the first leg of semi-final 2 in Kochi. On 13th December, Mumbai City FC and Atletico de Kolkata played out a 0-0 draw, thus Kolkata entered the finals of the Indian Super League 2016. Kerala Blasters FC progressed to the finals after a penalty shootout against Delhi Dynamos FC. The finals will be played between Atletico de Kolkata and Kerala Blasters FC.

India Enters Semi-Finals Of Junior Hockey World Cup: Due to goals from Simranjeet Singh and Harmanpreet Singh, India outplayed rivals Spain and thus have entered the semi-finals of the Junior Hockey World Cup in Lucknow and will go onto face Australia in the clash.
