An event eagerly awaited by the little angels of Navsari, the 13th Annual Prize Distribution Program, organized by The WZO Trust Funds, was held on December 17, 2016, at Seervai Party Plot, Bai Dosibai Kotwal Parsee Orphanage, Navsari. The Chief Guest was Percy Rusi Engineer, Principal, Faculty of Architecture, SCAT College, Surat; the Guest of Honor was Sam Sachinwala, In-charge Principal, SS Agrawal Institute of Management and Technology, Navsari; and other dignitaries on the dais included Dara Deboo and Yezdi Kasad -Trustees of Navsari Samast Anjuman and other institutions.
The program commenced with a welcome address by WZO Trust Funds Local Committee Member Cyrus Vandriwala who announced various activities undertaken by WZOTF during the year, followed by inviting the dignitaries on stage and felicitating them by members of the Local Committee – Sharmin Tamboly, Simin Bharda, Rohinton Contractor and Aspi Ambapardiwala.
Of a total of 245 results, 62 students from Class 1st to 12th and 34 students from college and those pursuing higher studies in various fields of education like M.Tech, LLB, MBA and Doctorates were awarded cash prizes and gifts as tokens of appreciation and motivation for their excellent academic performance.
All the dignitaries conveyed motivational addresses, sharing their experiences, and encouraged the students to adopt a positive attitude, have a focused vision and to realize their full potential. Next, Gulshan Vandriwala and Rohinton Contactor announced the names of students when cash prizes and gifts were given to the top 3 achievers of all categories by the dignitaries. Upon conclusion of the prize distribution ceremony, on behalf of WZO Trust Funds Local Committee members, Aspi Ambapardiwala gave a vote of thanks to The Trustees, Bachi and Dinshaw Tamboly for their financial support, to Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, dignitaries on dais for sparing their valuable time. Gratitude was expressed to the Trustees of Bai Dosibai Kotwal Parsee Orphanage Yezdi Kasad and Khurshed Desai for providing their venue free of cost. All volunteers were thanked for their commitment and dedication which led to a successful event. The program concluded with a rendition of ‘Chhaiye Hame Zarthoshti’ and the National Anthem.
