Lion Clubs Intl. Holds Hunger Projects

On 25th May 2017, Region Manager Lion Percy Master, Zone Managers Lion Katy Patel and Lion Cyrus Surti conducted a Hunger Project at Bal Anand World Children Welfare Trust, where sixty-five children were served a nourishing lunch, along with a cash donation of Rs. 20,000/-. Chief Guest was Multiple Council Chairman (Elect.) Lion Subhash Bhalwal (District 323 A2) and PDG Lion Daara Patel and COO Viraf Mistry were also present. Lion Percy Master spoke about Bal Anand, established in 1984, being a residential home for orphaned/destitute children aged upto six years; also providing permanent home for differently-abled children at their Karjat facility. He emphasized on the need for such projects in keeping with 194.6 million Indians were under-nourished and 22,500 die daily due to hunger. He added that since a third of India’s food production goes wasted, if one were to save this food, it would help feed all Indian citizens. On 26th May, 2017, another Hunger Project was carried out at J J Dharamshala, also established in 1831 by Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, where 67 inmates were given free lunch and donation of Rs. 10,000. Lion Percy Master thanked all clubs and members for their support.
