Pakistan Win Maiden Champions Trophy: Good cricketing performances by Fakhar Zaman’s batting (114) and Mohammad Amir (3-16) and Hasan Ali (3-19) with the ball helped Pakistan win the Champions Trophy 2017 beating arch-rivals India by 180 runs in London. Batting first, Pakistan notched up 338-4 in their 50 overs, courtesy great knocks by Azhar Ali (59), Babar Azam (46) and Mohammad Hafeez (57). Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav picked up 1 wicket each. India crumbled under pressure as they perished for just 158 in 30.3 overs. Hardik Pandya fought back with a brilliant 76 in 43 deliveries, with 4 fours 6 sixes. Pakistan were the better team on the given day and thus took home the trophy. Fakhar Zaman was ‘Man of the Match’ while Hasan Ali was awarded ‘Man of the Tournament’. Shikhar Dhawan took home the ‘Golden Bat’ as he scored 338 runs in the whole tournament, while Hasan Ali won the ‘Golden Ball’.

Kidambi Srikanth Wins Indonesia Open Super Series Premier Title: India’s star shuttler, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai 21-11, 21-19 in 37 minutes, winning the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier Title in Jakarta.

PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal And Sai Praneeth Move Into Australia Open Quarters: Indian players PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth and Sai Praneeth beat their respective opponents and progressed to the quarterfinals in the Australian open. Indonesia Open title winner Srikanth defeated Son Wan Ho 15-21, 21-13, 21-13 in 57 minutes. Sai Praneeth fought hard and registered a win over China’s Huang Yuxiang 21-15, 18-21, 21-13. Saina Nehwal defeated Malaysia’s Soniia Cheah 21-15, 20-22, 21-14. In the women’s singles, Sindhu outplayed Chen 21-13, 21-18 and won her encounter.

India Beat Pakistan In Hockey World League Semi-Final 2017: India played exceptionally well and thrashed rivals Pakistan 7-1 in the Hockey World League Semi-Final 2017 and won their third straight game. Harmanpreet Singh, Talwinder Singh, Akashdeep Singh and Pradeep Mor scored goals for India.

Netherlands Outplay India: India fought hard but went down 1-3 facing a tough Netherlands side. Netherlands are on top Pool B while India finished second with 3 wins.
