Chivda Galli: Dinshaw Petit Road in Lalbaug, commonly referred to as ‘Chivda Galli’, is a by-lane lined with shops selling Chivda, Farsan and spices. Stretching over 250 metres, the lane came into existence decades ago to cater to the needs of mill workers living around the area. Notably, over 7 tonnes of chivda and farsan is sold by most shops monthly.

 

Upvan Lake: One of Thane’s biggest lakes, situated in the Pokhran-II area and surrounded by Yeoor hills, Upvan Lake is known for its unique feature of holding the idol of Lord Shiva in its midst. It also provides boating facilities with paddle/motor boat rides.
