India Win Series Against West Indies: India put up a great all round show to win the 5th ODI by 8 wickets and thus clinched the series in Jamaica. Virat Kohli’s heroic performance of 111 with Dinesh Karthik’s 50 helped the men in blue to seal the ultimate deal. West Indies notched up 205-9 in 50 overs courtesy Shai Hope’s 51 and Kyle Hope’s 46. Amongst the Indian bowlers Mohammed Shami grabbed 4-48 in his 10 overs spell while Umesh Yadav picked up 3-53. In reply, the visitors cruised to victory even though Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket fell early on. The man in form Ajinkya Rahane got off to a good start and scored 39 along with great contributions from his other team mates. They reached their target of 206 in 36.5 overs. Virat Kohli won ‘Man of the Match’ while Ajinkya Rahane bagged ‘Man of the Series’.

Mithali Raj Becomes Highest Run Getter In Women’s ODI: Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team Mithali Raj created history in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup V/s Australia at Bristol as she became the leading run-scorer in women’s ODI Cricket. Mithali has gone past England cricketer Charlotte Edwards’ 5992 runs in 191 matches. She has now become the 1st ever women cricketer to touch the 6000 runs mark in One Day International cricket.

Ravi Shastri Is Team India’s New Head Coach: On the Cricket Advisory Committee’s recommendation Ravi Shastri is appointed as the Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team till the ICC World Cup 2019. Zaheer Khan has been roped in as the Bowling Consultant while Rahul Dravid is appointed as the Batting Consultant for overseas Test tours.

Roger Federer Storms Into Wimbledon Semi-Final: Seven-time champion Roger Federer has reached the Wimbledon semis for the 12th time as he beat opponent Milos Raonic 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4).

Prannoy, Kashyap Advance Into Round Two Of Canada Open: P Kashyap defeated Peru’s Daniel La Torre Regal 21-11, 21-9 while HS Prannoy outplayed Mexico’s Job Castillo 21-13, 21-15 in the men’s singles event and moved into the second round of the Canada Grand Prix.
