Indian Women Clinch Victory: Deepti Sharma’s 78 and skipper Mithali Raj’s 53 helped the women in blue defeat Sri Lanka by 16 runs in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, registering their fourth consecutive win at 232-8. Deepti and Mithali built a vital 118 runs partnership. India’s bunch of slow bowlers choked the opposition reducing the Lankan’s to 216-7 in 50 overs. Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Yadav were the pick of the bowlers, scalping 2 wickets each. Deepti Sharma and Ekta Bisht picked 1 wicket each. Team India advance towards sealing a semi-final spot. Deepti Sharma was the ‘Player of the Match’.

Raja, Sharan And Sania At Wimbledon: Divij Sharan and Purav Raja beat the British-Portuguese pair of Kyle Edmund and Joao Sousa 7-6 (7-2) 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), moving into the second round of the Men’s Doubles. Sania Mirza and partner Kirsten Flipkens defeated rivals Naomi Osaka and Shuai Zhang 6-4, 6-3 in 72 minutes, advancing to the second round of Women’s Doubles.

Andy Murray Through To Wimbledon Third Round: Defending champion Andy Murray stormed into the third round of Wimbledon 2017 in just 96 minutes, defeating Dustin Brown of Germany 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

Pankaj Advani Wins Asian Snooker Championship: Indian cueist Pankaj Advani and partner Laxman Rawat defeated Pakistani rivals in the Asian Team Snooker Championship finals with 3-0. Advani was the only player to not lose a single match in the event. This title is Pankaj’s second Asian title this season and 8th, overall.
