ndia Win 2nd ODI against Australia: A splendid batting performance from skipper Virat Kohli (92) coupled with good bowling performances from Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3-9 in 6.1 overs) and Kuldeep Yadav (3-54 in 10 overs) helped India win the 2nd ODI by 50 runs in Kolkata. Batting first, India made 252 in 50 overs. Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane contributed 55. Nathan Coulter-Nile and Kane Richardson picked 3 wickets each. In reply the Aussies collapsed at 202 in 43.1 overs. This is India’s eighth successive win in ODIs, thus reclaiming the number one spot in ODI rankings. Virat Kohli was Man of the Match.

 

 

Hockey

Manpreet To Lead India in Asia Cup: Midfielder Manpreet Singh will lead the 18 member Indian men’s hockey team at the Hero Asia Cup to be held in Dhaka from October 11-22. Forward SV Sunil will be Manpreet’s deputy.
