Support Animal Welfare With JeevaMitra!

In the past, Parsi Times appealed to our community members to aid ‘JeevaMitra’- a Learning Space Foundation initiative by Genevieve Dubash, that provides food and shelter to stray animals. Parsi Times readers will be delighted to know that their generous donations contributed towards raising Rs. 5,25,000/- as part of ‘JeevaMitra’s Phase I’ initiative. These funds were used for procuring 3 acres of organic farm on lease, which houses the permanent animal home cum training center. This outfit is equipped with a submersible hand pump, electricity, kitchen, outdoor bathing area and garden area for the animals.

As JeevaMitra steps into its second phase, once again, we call upon animal lovers and philanthropists to help contribute towards building a sustainable living model for the innumerable dogs and cats at this center. Your donations are needed on three levels:

  1. One-Time Investment: For construction and repairs of structures including the open air kitchen, accommodations, submersible water pump and civil work for the animal home. A total sum of Rs.2,50,000/- needs to be raised by September 30th, 2017.
  2. Monthly Recurring Expenses: Food and medicine for animals, electricity charges, veterinary expenses, etc., totaling to 55,000/- . Contributors are requested to send in donations before the 10th of every month.
  3. Donations in kind: including rice, lentils, cat and dog food, utensils, stove, freezer-box, kerosene, medicines, etc. are most welcome.

The animals who need to be rehabilitated by JeevaMitra’s second phase hope that your hands will receive their extended paws!
