Peru Qualify For FIFA World Cup: Goals from Jefferson Farfan and Christain Ramos helped Peru defeat New Zealand 2-0, thus sealing berth in the World Cup after 35 years. Peru was in complete control of the game from the very beginning as Jefferson smashed the ball into the net from the edge of the penalty area in the 27th minute of the contest after receiving assistance from Christian Cueva. Ramos then doubled the lead for Peru in the 65th minute and struck the winner for his side.

HS Prannoy And Saina Nehwal Crash Out Of China Open: Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal lost to opponent Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 18-21, 11-21 to thus bow out of the China Open Super Series Premier Badminton tournament. On the other hand HS Prannoy too could not continue his stay in the contest as he was beaten 21-19, 21-17 by 53rd ranked Cheuk Yiu Lee of Hong Kong in the men’s singles event.
