Nargis Rabadi Aka ‘Shammi’ Passes Away

Born as Nargis Rabadi in a Parsi family, veteran actor Shammi passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 89, on 6th March, 2018. Known for her impeccable comic timing, Shammi acted in over two hundred films including Ustad Pedro, Bhai- Bahen, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayi, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Ittefaq, The Burning Train, Kudrat, Awara Baap, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, among a few popular TV serials, such as Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh and Filmi Chakkar.

Shammi was married to film producer-director Sultan Ahmed for seven years, before they got divorced. Innumerable personalities from the film and political fraternity paid their respects to the late actor, including actor Amitabh Bachchan and former Congress MP, Priya Dutt.
