Homavazir’s 11th CBDA Scouts’ Matheran Camp

The Homavazir’s 11th CBDA Scouts organised their Summer Camp to ‘Mount Pabhani’, in a small bungalow tucked away in the lush green Matheran forest, from 4 – 7 May, 2018. Collectively, thirty-three cubs, scouts, rovers and scouters participated in the daily camp activities that began with morning exercises, followed by flag hoisting, uniform inspection, varied sessions on knots, first aid, compass and a jungle trek to ‘One Tree Hill’.

Afternoons were mainly devoted to passing tests, writing log books and quizzes. Evening games of baseball, though played in the spirit of camaraderie, would be fiercely competitive, with winning patrols (teams) awarded points and presented camp mementoes. The highlight of the camp was the ‘camp fire’ under the brilliant canopy of stars, where the boys demonstrated their talents with an array of items including songs, skits, dance and magic shows. The camp concluded with the lowering of the flag, followed by the group leader thanking the boys, scouters and their host, Sorab Gandhi, for making the camp a grand success.
