Germany Knocked Out Of World Cup: Defending champions Germany were stunned during their Group F encounter V/s South Korea as they suffered a 0-2 loss during the last few minutes of extended time. The Koreans lucked out with the late VAR review going in their favour as Kim Young-Gwon’s strike which had been initially ruled out for an off side, was later given as a goal. Further during the (90+6) minute, a major error by German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer cost them big as Son Heung-Min shot a goal and doubled the lead for his team.

Argentina Into Round Of Sixteen: On the near verge of elimination, Argentina produced an outright win against Nigeria 2-1 to move into the round of 16. Lionel Messi was the first to strike for Argentina in the 14th minute. Nigeria shot back with an equaliser via Victor Moses. Then, Argentina’s Marcos Rojo scored the winning goal for his side in the 86th minute. They will face France in the next round.

Sindhu And Srikanth Advance In Malaysia Open: Star Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth overpowered their rivals in contests to move ahead and play the pre-quarterfinals of the Malaysian Open badminton tournament. Sindhu beat Japan’s Aya Ohori: 26-24, 21-15 while Srikanth edged out Denmark’s Jan Jorgensen: 21-18, 21-9.

India Thrashes Ireland To Win First T20 In Style: An exceptional batting display by Indian openers Rohit Sharma (97) and Shikhar Dhawan (74) coupled with great bowling from Kuldeep Yadav (4-21) and Yuzvendra Chahal (3-38), helped the visitors beat Ireland by a huge margin of 76 runs during their first T20 clash at Dublin. Batting first, India posted 208-5 in 20 overs. Rohit and Shikhar put up 160 runs. Ireland’s Peter Chase snapped up (4-35) in four overs. In reply, the hosts were unable to reach their target and crumbled under pressure as James Shannon top scored with 60.       Manu Bhaker Wins Gold: 16-year-old Indian shooter Manu Bhaker continued to dominate at the ISSF Junior World Cup, as she shot 242.5 in the 24 shot final to win the gold medal in the 10-meter Air-pistol event.
