Bangladesh In Asia Cup final

A stellar performance with the bat from Man of the Match, Mushfiqur Rahim (99) coupled with a fabulous bowling effort by Mustafizur Rahman (4-43) helped Bangladesh win against Pakistan by 37 runs during their virtual Asia Cup semi-final clash at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh posted a commendable total of 239 in 48.5 overs. After losing their top order within no time…Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun stitched a 144 runs partnership for the fourth wicket before the latter was caught and bowled by Hasan Ali on 60. None of the other Bangla batsmen were able to score big after getting initial starts. Junaid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he snapped up (4-19) in his nine overs.

In reply when Pakistan came out to chase down their total, they could only manage 202-9 in their 50 overs. Opener Imam-ul-Haq was the only batsman who looked dangerous in the middle until he perished on 83. On the other hand, experienced player Shoaib Malik was not able to contribute much, handing Bangladesh a well-deserved victory. Now in the ultimate clash during the final, Bangladesh will be facing a tough Indian side.
