Jaydev, Varun Become Costliest Buys Of IPL Auction: The Indian Premier League auctions held in Jaipur on 18th December saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking in Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 8.4 Cr.; spinner Varun Chakaravarthy was grabbed for Rs. 8.4 Cr., and Sam Curran for Rs. 7.2 Cr. by Kings X1 Punjab; Delhi Capitals grabbed Colin Ingram for Rs. 6.4 Cr. and Axar Patel for Rs. 5 Cr.; Kolkata Knight Riders bought Carlos Brathwaite for Rs. 5 Cr.; Chennai Super Kings bought back Mohit Sharma Rs. 5 Cr.; Shivam Dube was taken by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 5 Cr.; Mohammed Shami and Prabhsimran Singh were purchased by Punjab for Rs. 4.8 Cr. Mumbai Gain Against Baroda In Ranji Trophy: Mumbai boys put a good show at the Wankhede Stadium as they took the first innings lead V/s Baroda. Exceptional batting from Shreyas Iyer (178) and skipper Siddhesh Lad (130) helped Mumbai score 465 in 92.5 overs during their first innings. Baroda bowler Hardik Pandya picked 5-81. In reply Baroda batsmen accumulated 436 in 146 overs as Waghmode and Solanki got 114 and 133 respectively. Mumbai’s Royston Dias snared four wickets while Shubham Ranjane grabbed 3-62. Mumbai declared at 307-7 in 84 overs in second innings, with Shubham showcasing his prowess at 64 with six fours and two maximums. Shivam Dube scored 76 off 60 deliveries, including five sixes in five balls while debutant Eknath Kerkar played well for 56*.

Belgium Wins Hockey World Cup 2018: Belgium beat Netherlands 3-2 during an intense penalty shootout at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar winning the World Cup. Belgium goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch was the hero of the match making four saves to hand his team a win.
