Vidarbha Wins Ranji Trophy: Great bowling performance by Man of the Match, Aditya Sarwate, who claimed a match haul of 11 wickets in the Ranji Trophy final against Saurashtra, helped defending champions, Vidarbha reclaim their title for the second year, winning the game by 78 runs. Batting first, Vidarbha scored 312 in 120.2 overs in their first innings. Akshay Karnewar remained unbeaten on 73. For Saurashtra, skipper Jaydev Unadkat grabbed 3-54 in 24 overs while Chetan Sakariya and Kamlesh Makvana picked two wickets. In reply, the visiting side managed 307 in 117 overs. Snell Patel scored 102. Along with Sarwate, Akshay Wakhare snapped up 4-80. In their second innings, Vidarbha posted 200 in 92.5 overs. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja scalped six wickets. In the fourth innings, Saurashtra were all out for 127.

New Zealand Clinches First T20 Win: The Kiwis beat India by 80 runs, thanks to good performances from Man of the Match Tim Seifert (84) and Tim Southee (3-17) during the first T20 in Wellington. Put into bat first, the Kiwis scored 219-6 in 20 overs. Seifert pelted seven fours and six maximums en-route his half-century mark. Mitchell Santer and Scott Kuggelejin remained unbeaten on scores of 7 and 20. For India, Hardik Pandya picked two wickets. India collapsed at 139 all out, handing over a comfortable victory.

Kiki Bertens Wins St Petersburg Title: Top seed Holland’s Kiki Bertens beat Croatia’s Donna Vekic to win the WTA St. Petersburg title, with 7-6 (7/2), 6-4 in one hour and 43 minutes, recording her first victory against Vekic in four head-to-head outings.

The following day, Manchester United beat Leicester City 1-0, while Manchester City outplayed Arsenal 3-1. 6th February saw Manchester City overpower Everton 2-0.
