The Zoroastrian Trust Funds Of India (ZTFI) held it’s Annual Day 2019 at Cama Baug on 26th January, 2019, with Parsi Times as the Media Partner. The evening began with the auspicious and heartwarming Navjote ceremony of five Zoroastrian children, nobly organized by ZTFI and graciously conducted gratis, by Er. Kaizad Karkaria and the Dastoorjis of Rustom Framna Agiary. ZTFI gifted the excited children and their grateful families lots of valuable goodies and memories of a lifetime to take home.

An audience of over six hundred community members gave a thunderous applause to these children who were called on stage post their Navjote ceremony. Host Vistasp Gotla called on the dynamic Founding Trustee and Chairman of the Managing Committee, Yasmin Mistry to give the welcome address, who was delighted to share ZTFI’s completion of a ten-year journey that had touched the lives and hearts of the whole community. She thanked Co-Founding Trustee, Kersi Randeria as also all the donors for their support. “It gives her immense pleasure to bring a smile to people’s faces. I feel humbled and privileged to be able to touch lives and to try to make the world a better place. Nothing is more gratifying than community service and that is why at ZTFI, it’s always ‘Community First’,” she shared.

Next, a short and insightful film on ZTFI’s journey and achievements through the years was screened – which showed numerous philanthropic activities undertaken successfully by ZTFI including the monthly Feed-a-Family program with its recipients expressing heartfelt gratitude for the support and the dignity shown to them consistently by ZTFI. The film also flashed snippets from Youth Camps and a host of activities carried out by ZTFI for all – the young and the old.

This was followed by a note of welcome given to Chief Guest, the sprightly Homai Daruwala, who spoke about the importance of charity and applauded ZTFI for the amazing body of work they have been doing. Next, was the much awaited ‘ZTFI Teen Princess 2019 Contest’, which was judged by Delna Balsara Sharma, the reigning, stunning ‘Mrs. Asia Universe’ and the lovely Farhana Chikhalikar. Contestants were judged on their walk in the first round and the second round was a question answer round. As the results were being prepared, a Lucky Draw was announced where the winner would win a 32-inch LED TV. Chief Guest Daruwalla and the Guest of Honour, Zarir Bhathena declared the winners, post which Yasmin called on stage Team ZTFI and thanked them for their support through the years. She thanked her mother and ZTFI trustee, Arnavaz Mistry for being such a constant and great source of inspiration, having dedicated decades of her life to Community and Social Service. Finally, the much awaited ‘ZTFI Teen Princess 2019 Contest’ results were declared with thirteen-year-old Mahzbin Maloo winning the title of ZTFI Teen Princess 2019, alongside First Runner-up Bianca Batliwalla and Second Runner-up Kashmira Colabawala.

This was followed by the rendition of the National anthem and exciting live music by Manoj and band that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. All the attendees had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the gala eve, topped off with Tanaz Godiwalla’s scrumptious Lagan Nu Bhonu.

Kudos to ZTFI for providing such admirable and noble service to the Community!
