Dear Readers,

What would have otherwise started off as a happy week for the Community, following the Jamshedi Navroze festivities, turned out otherwise, with the shocking and heartbreaking news of the passing of our little, 11-year-old Parvara Kapadia, in an unfortunate accident. Many in our community were reduced to tears to see the picture of the innocent, little angel. We pray to Ahura Mazda to keep her soul and to grant strength and consolation to her loved ones, especially her parents, to get through this irreparable loss and devastating time. The Community stands by you in thought and in prayer.

Last weekend, some of our Community greats were felicitated with the prestigious ‘Parsi Ratna’ and other prominent awards for their unparalleled contribution and service to not just the Community, but also to the nation and even globally. As is the case for all distinguished Community events, Parsi Times was the privileged Media Partner, and on behalf of the Community, we congratulate our ‘Parsi Ratna’ awardees – the brilliant theater and Bollywood actor and producer Boman Irani; our Community’s First Lady of Finance – Homai Daruwalla; foremost philanthropist and visionary, Dinshaw Tamboly; and the ‘Nations Strength Coach’ and Founder of K11 – Kaizzad Capadia. Dr. Cyres Mehta received the ‘Nation’s Pride’ award for his unparalleled, pathbreaking achievements in Ophthalmology worldwide; and the current ‘MRS. ASIA UNIVERSE 2018’ – Delnaz Balsara Sharma received the ‘Darabshaw Achievement Award’ for bringing pride to the community and the nation. Read all about it (Pg. 10) and lots more in this issue!

Have a safe and happy weekend.
