Qualifier 1 – Mumbai In Finale: A scintillating knock of 71 off 54 deliveries laced with 10 boundaries from Man of the Match, Suryakumar Yadav ensured a six wickets win for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first qualifier at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai and also a berth in the final of this year’s Indian Premier League 2019. Batting first, CSK notched up 131-4 in 20 overs. Murali Vijay scored 26 while the Ambati Rayudu (37 ball 42) and skipper MS Dhoni (29 ball 37) helped their team get a formidable total. For Mumbai Indians, Rahul Chahar was the pick of the bowlers snapping up (2-14) while Krunal Pandya and Jayant Yadav took one wicket each. In reply, MI lost two early wickets – captain Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock – but cruised to victory finishing with 132-4 in 18.3 overs.

Eliminator  – Delhi In Qualifier 2: Man of the Match Rishabh Pant’s outstanding 49 coupled with opener Prithvi Shaw’s 56 helped Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by two wickets during the eliminator contest at the Dr. Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, thus booking a date with CSK in qualifier two. Batting first, SRH scored 162-8 in 20 overs. Martin Guptill top scored with 36 off 19, with one four and four sixes. For DC, Keemo Paul grabbed (3-32). DC got off to a flying start with Prithvi and Shikhar Dhawan’s opening partnership of 66 runs. Keemo Paul hit the winning runs with a boundary as DC got to 165-8 in 19.5 overs.

Federer, Nadal Shine It Madrid Open: Ace Swiss tennis star, Roger Federer, continued his dominance after a 3-year absence, in the tennis circuit – with 6-2, 6-3 win against French player, Richard Gasquet at the Madrid Open. The 20-time Grand Slam winner took 52 minutes to acquire victory in the second round. Rafael Nadal moved into the third round with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Canadian teenager, Feliz Auger-Aliassime.

Premier League Results

On 4th May, AFC Bournemouth outplayed Tottenham Hotspur 1-0; West Ham United won 3-0 with Southampton; Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Fulham 1-0; Crystal won 3-2 V/s Cardiff City. Ultimately Liverpool clinched a 3-2 win with Newcastle United. Next day, Chelsea beat Watford 3-0; Huddersfield Town and Manchester United drew their encounter 1-1; Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion drew at 1-1. 6th May saw Manchester City overpower Leicester City winning by a 1-0 margin.
