Pervin Watchmaker Receives Avantika Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award-2019

On September 15th, 2019, Ahmedabad’s Pervin Rustom Watchmaker, Principal of Euro School (Nadiad) was conferred the prestigious Avantika Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award – 2019, in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of education and for being a good shikshak (Educator). Instituted by Delhi-based Avantika Group of contemporary artists and intellectuals, the award was presented to Pervin by its Founder and Director, Dr. Anand Aggarwal, alongside a certificate, trophy, shawl and words of appreciation commending her on 25 years of dedicated service, beginning as a teacher and then as Principal. The award ceremony took place in Rajkot at the Arpit International School with amidst dignitaries including eminent principals of various schools who were also recipients of the award.

Crediting the larger part of her passion and success to all the teachers and her founder family – the Godrej’s – the school where she studied – Mumbai’s Udayachal School, she said, “The passion, the dedication, the patience, the wealth of knowledge, imparting quality education all these and much more that I saw in all my teachers who taught me, motivated and encouraged me to opt for this noble profession. I was extremely lucky to have had holistic education in a school which made us all-rounders. I am very thankful to Ahura Mazda from whom I derive strength, my parents who taught me patience, my children’s ‘never say die’ attitude and the support of my wonderful family and colleagues, my friends and most importantly, my students, who taught me to become an even better Principal!”

55-year-old Pervin is also the recipient of the ‘Best District Principal Award’ (2017) and ‘The President Guide Award’ (1979).
