The World Zarthusti Chamber of Commerce, Pune (WZCC) held its 15th AGM in Pune on, 14th September, 2019, at Hotel Shree Pachratna. The meeting was chaired by Tehmasp Bharucha, Chapter Chair, WZCC-Pune, and attended by good number of members from Pune and Mumbai. The Guest of Honour, Capt. Percy Master, Regional Director and Chairperson, WZCC-India Region, was accompanied by wife Arin. Amongst the other dignitaries present were Phily Kharas – ex-Regional Director, International Board; Adi Siganporia – Global Corporate Secretary on International Board; Xerxes Dastur – Regional Director and WZCC-India Treasurer; Behorze Daruwala – Honorary Secretary, WZCC; Aspi Antia – CEO and Zarin Khan -Senior Executive.
Tehmasp Bharucha welcomed the members and briefed the gathering about the current economic scenario with detailed reports of various activities and events carried out by Pune Chapter in the last year, as regards informative programmes and seminars conducted, regular quarterly meetings which provide beneficial opportunities to members to show-case their products/services. He proudly announced the formation of Pune Chapter’s Youth wing and WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Wing to cater to the youth and women centric programs respectively and shared membership details –the total of which stands at 80 members. He thanked especially the WZCC Working Committee members for their continued support.
Capt Percy Master in his speech, emphasized the importance of integrity in industry and advised that the basic tenets of Zoroastrian religion of good words, good thoughts and good deeds, were very relevant in modern times for success in industry and commerce. He also informed the gathering about the WZCC India Region AGM in Mumbai on 21st September and the Global AGM of WZCC, in Lonavala, from 3rd to 5th January, 2020 and urged members to attend with family and friends.
Audited accounts of WZCC-Pune for the FY 2018-19 were presented. Representatives of the newly formed WZCC-Youth – Dinyar Mehta; and WZCC-WE Wing – Benafsha Irani, shared presentations of action plans and road maps. As part of Members’ Nite, Dr. Vilas Kulkarni – HR consultant, Corporate Trainer and Motivational Speaker, as also Pune University Professor and the Region Chairman of Lions Clubs International (District 3234 D2) – was invited as Keynote Speaker. He enlightened the audience with his presentation on Stress Management – including its origin, effects and ways to overcome it on personal and professional levels. Farida Deboo gave the vote of thanks and the gathering moved on to enjoy networking over cocktails and dinner.
