The Federation of Historic Vehicles of India (FHVI) held one of India’s largest, vintage and classic car and motorcycle events, titled the ‘Royal Classic Dasara Drive’, from Bangalore to Mysore, between the 29th September to 2nd October, 2019. Representing our bike-loving Community were three Bawa bikers – from Team VZBB (Vintage Zoroastrian Bikers of Bombay) with their much cherished Vintage motorcycles – Jazeel Mehta with his BMW R100RS, 1000cc, dated-1980; Jehangir Foroogh with Triumph Tiger T110, 650cc, dated-1954; and Romie Umrigar with his Triumph Tiger, 500, dated-1956.
Marking its fifth successful pan India event, the FHVI was flagged off by the Governor of Karnataka, who hosted breakfast for the participants at his official residence – the palatial Raj Bhavan. The historic vehicles drove in a convoy to the Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. The Mysore leg of the event was flagged of by the Chief Minister of Karnataka and concluded at the magnificent Mysore Palace. The drive also covered Chamundi Hill, Brindavan Gardens, and the Krishna Raja Sagara dam on the river Kaveri.
