Officers of Telangana State Minorities Commission (TSMC), led by Chairman Mohammed Qamaruddin, visited the Zoroastrian graveyard, located in Kanteshwar Village, Nizamabad district, on 4^th October, 2019. The members of the Commission, including Omim Manikshaw Debara, Trustee, Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman, visited the site along with local Revenue and police officials, with a number of community members.

The Committee found that 1.28 acres of land has been occupied by “unauthorized persons”, leaving the Parsi cemetery reduced to 11 guntas of land. The TSMC Chairman instructed the Deputy Tahsildar, Kanteshwar, to conduct an inquiry and submit a report disclosing under what authority the illegal possession of Parsi land had accrued. The Deputy Tahsildar has assured of submitting the same within a week.
