FEZANA Delegation To Make Presentation At UN

FEZANA’s delegation has been selected to present a workshop titled, ‘Empowering Women through Health, Education and Enhancement in the Workplace’, at the United Nations’ 64th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Conference, to be held in March 2020, at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA.

This year’s conference theme will focus on the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – a visionary agenda for the empowerment of women. The FEZANA panel will present its workshop covering five of the Sustainable Development Goals – ‘No Poverty’; ‘Good Health and Well-being’; ‘Gender Equality’; ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’; and ‘Reduced Inequalities’.

FEZANA will collaborate with Pakistan-based NGOs – ‘Shirkat Gah’ and ‘Aahung’ to advocate for women’s sexual and reproductive health and reduced violence against women; the Pakistan Business Council on the promotion of gender diversity in the workforce; UK-based Asha Centre on the importance of education as a tool for women’s empowerment; and will highlight family friendly workplace policies in New Zealand that facilitate women’s participation in the workforce. Delegates include Ferzeen Dadabhoy (Auckland, New Zealand); Miraal Mavalvala (Pakistan/Canada); Sanaya Master (New Zealand/Pakistan); Shireen Mehri (Pakistan); Afreed Mistry (Canada) and Behram Pastakia (USA).
