Sanjan Stambh Centenary Celebrations

Saturday, 15th February, 2020 will mark the centenary of the opening of the Sanjan Memorial Column or the Sanjan Stambh to the public. A special Jashan will be held to celebrate the occasion at 10:00 am, followed by breakfast. Humdins are requested to be present for the celebrations of this auspicious occasion.

Sanjan Stambh which means pillar in Gujarati, was constructed in the year 1920, to perpetuate the memory of the arrival of the Zoroastrians in India, stating the date at 936 CE. We also commemorate the arrival of the community by celebrating Sanjan Day in November. The Stambh is made of Vadodara granite. Its height, including the leaping flames of fire, is 50 feet. The column rests on a square platform and is decorated with 23 rosettes.
