Utkarsh Dance Academy Performs At Kala Ghoda Arts Fest

Surat’s dynamic dancers from the Utkarsh Dance Academy LLP, and Nrityanjali, under the guidance of Behnaz S. Todiwala and Payal Bhatt performed at Mumbai’s eminent Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2020, on 1st February, 2020. Twenty spirited performers wonderfully showcased the Indian culture and traditions by performing on Indian folk dances like Kalbelia – the gypsy dance from Rajasthan, Haryanvi – a feminine dance from Haryana and Dangi – based on the Adivasi regions of local Dang region of Gujarat.

These high energy dances performed on live music received great applause by the audiences and dignitaries including Dr. Tushar Guha and Darshanaben Zaveri. Speaking to Parsi Times, Behnaz  Todiwala said, “It is a great honour for the performers of Utkarsh Dance Academy to have been invited for the third time to perform at this mega cultural event, which draws in crowds from all over! I’m thankful to the KGAF curator, Dr. Anonna Guha and her excellent and dedicated team for the opportunity and for giving Mumbaikars this brilliant exhibition, year after year!”
