ZWAS Spreads Festive Cheer

ZWAS or the Zoroastrian Women’s Assembly of Surat, has been doing great work to uplift the lives of the underprivileged in Surat city. During the festive season last December, ZWAS decided to celebrate the festival of giving and New Year with the residents of Nariman Home and the children from the Boys and Girls Orphanage, thanks to the generosity of Gulshan Master – Chairperson of Social Service Committee, through whose good offices, the organization received a handsome donation.

ZWAS members visited Nariman Home on the eve of 22nd December, 2019, distributing Christmas cakes and other yummy goodies to the residents, with each resident gifted individually, as per their needs. Renditions of Christmas jingles added to the merriment and joy. On Christmas day, the children residing at the Boys and Girls Orphanage were invited for a celebration at Tamna-Ni-Dharmashala by ZWAS for X’mas celebrations, where ZWAS members had a fun program planned. Children played fun games and were given gifts, again, as per the individual wishes of the child. They were served a Chinese meal with sweets and snacks – all in accordance with their preferences!

ZWAS President, Delnaz Katpitia shared, “I’m thankful to all the members of our organization for the hard work and excellent efforts. Their zeal to serve is heart-warming. I also thank the trustees of Surat Parsi Panchayat for allowing us to conduct these programs on their premises; as also trustees of Nanpura Zarthosti Anjuman for allowing the gratis use of Tamna Ni Dharmashala, and thanks to Hoshang Hilluwala for providing transport facility to the children. I urge my members to continue to serve with zeal as service to humanity is service to God!”
