Er. Farmaan Dastoor Ordained Navar

Surat-based, 12-year-old Er. Farmaan Sarosh Dastoor was ordained Navar on 25th May, 2021, at Surat’s Sheth D N Modi Shahenshahi Atashbehram, by Er. Burjor Aibada and Er. Poras Zaroliwala, under the able guidance of Ervads Harvesp and Adil Sanjana.

The son of Er. (Dr.) Sarosh and Shiraz Dastoor, (and grandson of late Persis and Ervad Kekobad Dastoor and late Cyrus and Gool Nogamawala), Er. Farmaan delivered a speech on the ‘Importance of Navar’ before the Dasturs and relatives in the Atash-Behram, just before the Navar ritual was performed. “After becoming Navar, we have to shoulder the responsibility of the prayers of worshipers to the spiritual world and bring them blessings… I feel privileged to be a ‘Sampurna Navar’. I know that being a Navar and wearing this white crown, this Paghdi, is an honourable spiritual responsibility given to a chosen few. I will do my best to fulfil this responsibility and be a proper, Pakka Athornan all my life. Atha Jamyaad, yatha Afrinami!” said Er. Farmaan.

His parents extend heartfelt gratitude, especially to Er. (Dr.) Ramiyar Karanjia, Principal – Dadar Athornan Institute; Er. Kersi Karanjia, Er. Sarosh Behramkamdin and all teachers of the Dadar Athornan Institute, Mumbai, for moulding and shaping the children of Athornan families to be pakka Ervads.

Here’s wishing our young priest – Er. Farmaan Dastoor the very best for a long and dedicated service to the priestly vocation and the community. We wish him success in all his endeavours.
