Poshan Jagrukta Abhiyaan Held by MOMA And WCD

Poshan Jagrukta Abhiyaan (Nutrition Awareness Campaign), organized by the Union Ministry for Minority Affairs (MOMA) and Ministry for Women and Children Development (WCD), aims at increasing awareness about the need for proper nutrition for women from minority communities – especially adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers. On 6th September, 2021, women, children and youth from the Parsi community interacted with Union Ministers – Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Smriti Irani, at the Dadar Athornan Institute, Mancherji Joshi Hall, and received Nutrikits as well.

Also present on the occasion were Renuka Kumar – Secretary, MOMA; Rahul Shewale – MP; Manoj Kotak – MP; Indevar Pandey – Secretary, WCD and S K Dev Verman – Secretary, NCM. The event focused on creating awareness about the importance of a nutritious diet for women and children, which in turn would lead to a bright and healthy future for India. Parsi dignitaries who also graced the occasion included Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia – Principal, Dadar Athornan Institute; Sam Balsara – Founder, Madison World; Lara Balsara-Vajifdar – Executive Director, Madison World; and a couple of BPP Trustees. Ministers – Abbas Naqvi and Smriti Irani, as well as Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia addressed the audiences, in solidarity with the Poshan Jagrukta Abhiyaan.
