On 18th November, 2021, Masina Hospital achieved yet another milestone under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Vispi Jokhi, by completing the state-of-the-art modernization of its main Operation Theatre as well as inaugurating a new Special Parsi Room facility.
The features of this Operation Theater complex are the presence of three large Operating Rooms with independent Air Handling units and Modular design with wall cladding which is anti-microbial. Along with this the OR’s have Surgical and Anesthesia pendants with Facility of HMIS and live transmission of live surgery.
Besides this, a new exclusive facility for Parsi patients was created by the hospital for the middle class and rich patients. The proximity of the Parsi baugs to a multi-specialty hospital offering majority of diagnostic facilities under one roof, with tertiary care services like cardiac and neuro surgery, makes this a boon for the community.
“We began the day in true Parsi tradition, with a Jashan conducted at 10:30 am, by Er. Parvez Bajan and Er. Zahan Turel of Surat Goti Aderan. While Er. Parvez Bajan needs no introduction to the community, Er. Zahan Turel is the same young priest, who was battling for his life, a year ago, after having sustained severe burn injuries and Covid infection. He was successfully treated at Masina Hospital last year at our famous Burns Unit,” shared Dr. Jokhi. The jashan was attended by donors and Parsi doctors and was followed by the unveiling of the donor plaques in the OT complex and the Parsi ward, along with the Mental Health Unit. This was followed by a felicitation of donors.
The onward journey of the hospital, which is upgrading all its facilities, has been made possible in a very large and substantial manner, thanks to the munificence of Parsi donors who have contributed over the last few years. Masina Hospital has been known for its excellent care and has treated community members for over a hundred years with empathy and compassion. Over the past few years, the hospital has focused on revival by modernization, constantly upgrading its technology, infrastructure and specialists to serve Mumbai even better as a multi-specialty medical hub for the city.
