Iran’s Minister Promises Relief To Kurdistan Zoroastrians

On 26th November, 2021, Iran’s Minister of Immigration and Displacement – Evan Fayek Jabo, visited the Zoroastrian (Ateshga) and the Yesna Zoroastrian organization in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, to closely inspect the conditions of Zoroastrians living there. She was received by a number of Zoroastrians, led by Awat Husam Al-Din, the Zoroastrian representative in the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Region, alongside Asrawan Qadiruk – Supervisor of the Zoroastrian temple in Sulaymaniyah; Azad Saeed – Supervising Director of the Yesna Organization, and a number of members of the Zoroastrian High Commission.

Zoroastrians from Kirkuk and Tuz Khurmatu have been affected by the security conditions that Iraq experienced in the exceptional circumstances that occurred due to ISIS and its aftermath. Minister Evan Fayek Jabo gave a patient listening to their needs and has promised to resolve the issues as well as compensate them for the damages they suffered.
