Khaiz Cyrus Gheewala, studying in class IX at the JSS International School (Dubai), won the ‘Individual Championship’ in the Under-14 age category, in GMAAA’s (Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association) Annual Sub Junior and Junior Aquatic Meet 2022, which was held from 14 – 16 May, at Celebration Club, Mumbai. Competing with about 205 swimmers who had participated from across Mumbai, Khaiz won an impressive four Gold medals (in 50m, 100m, 200m Breast Stroke and 400m IM) and a Silver medal in 200m IM.
The son of proud parents, Meher and Cyrus Gheewala, Khaiz has been professionally competing in swimming only since the past five years – which makes this milestone truly commendable. He owes this trophy to the hard work and dedication of his coaches. Khaiz represented General Arun Kumar Vaidya Swimming Pool in Mumbai (coached – Anup Radhakrishnani) and in Dubai he trains with Gators Swimming Academy (coach – Mohamed El Zanaty).
Here’s looking forward to many more such winning strokes by swimming champ, Khaiz!
